Terms of Use

01 Agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and the independent developer of Bunko eReader, based in Türkiye ("we", "us"). They apply to the Bunko eReader mobile application and to any update of it.

If you use the app through Google Play or the Apple App Store, that store's own terms also apply to your download and to any purchase you make. Where a store rule conflicts with these terms for a purchase made in that store, the store's rule governs the purchase.

02 Licence to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Bunko eReader on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial reading.

You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, and you may not decompile or reverse-engineer it except where that right cannot be excluded by law. The app itself, its name, its design and its code remain ours.

03 Your Files and Content

Bunko does not sell, host or supply books. You add your own EPUB, PDF, Word, Excel, text and ZIP files, and they stay on your device.

• You keep all rights to your own files. We claim no ownership of them.
• You are responsible for having the right to hold and read every file you open, and for complying with copyright law where you live.
• Notes, highlights, collections and statistics you create belong to you and are stored on your device.

Because your library never reaches us, we cannot recover it for you. Keeping your own backup is your responsibility; the app's backup feature exists to help you do that.

04 Free Use and Bunko Pro

The app is free to use with some limits. At the time of writing, the free tier allows up to 10 imported documents and 3 collections.

Bunko Pro removes those limits and unlocks additional features such as tap-to-translate. Pro may be offered as a subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase, depending on what is available in your store.

We may adjust the free limits or the contents of the Pro tier in future versions. If a change would remove a feature you have already paid for during a paid period, we will not apply it to that period.

05 Billing, Renewal and Cancellation

All payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive or store your payment details.

• Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you confirm, and include any taxes the store applies.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• You cancel through your store account, not inside Bunko: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions, or Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iOS.
• Cancelling stops future renewals. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
• A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment with no renewal.

Purchases are tied to the store account that made them. You can restore them on another device with the same account using "Restore purchases" on the Pro screen.

06 Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, under that store's refund policy. We cannot issue refunds directly, because we never receive the payment ourselves.

If you believe something went wrong with a purchase, contact us at the address below and we will help you sort it out with the store. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by this section.

07 Third-Party Services

Some optional features rely on services we do not control:

• RevenueCat validates and restores purchases.
• Google Translate powers tap-to-translate for the text you select.
• Your device's text-to-speech engine performs read-aloud.

These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or content. Translations in particular are machine-generated and may be wrong; do not rely on them where accuracy matters. What each service receives is set out in the Privacy Policy.

08 Acceptable Use

When using Bunko you agree not to:

• Use the app for anything unlawful, or to open material you have no right to possess
• Attempt to bypass the free-tier limits, the purchase checks or any other restriction in the app
• Interfere with, overload or abuse the third-party services the app connects to
• Distribute a modified version of the app or present it as your own

09 Availability and Changes

We aim to keep Bunko working well, but we do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption or free of errors. Features may be added, changed or removed as the app develops, and support for older operating system versions may end.

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when a feature changes. The updated version is posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will make it visible in the app.

10 Disclaimer and Liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that every file will render perfectly, that translations will be accurate, or that no data will ever be lost.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data or lost reading progress, or for loss arising from your failure to keep a backup. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11 Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and consumer arbitration committees of Türkiye have jurisdiction. If you use the app as a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory law of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings there.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
